This is the official blog of the first annual Dark Canyon Challenge. A cycling event starting in Redondo Beach ending in the Dark Canyon campground in Idyllwild Ca. The route starts in Redondo and heads east.. mostly streets with a few bikes paths along the way. The real fun will start after Hemet, ( after 100 miles ) when we go up the 74 freeway straight up the mountain for the next 26+ miles. The elevation gain from Hemet to Dark Canyon is something like 4000+.

Actually, the beach turn around point was considered the Pacific Palisades area. Malibu would have been several miles further.
